About Us

The Public Works Department is the principle agency of the Goverment of Madhya Pradesh responsible for the following-
Architecture survey, design, construction, improvement and maintenance of roads & bridges of the State.
Design construction & maintenance of public buildings of the State.
Carrying out works assigned in the Comand Area Development.
Any other work assigned from time to time. Organisation Setup: Engineer-in-Chief is the head of department assisted by C.E. in the Zone, S.E. in the Circle. Executive Engineer is under Superintending Engineer and is the Divisional Head.

A Division is divided into Sub Divisions of which an Assistant Engineer is Officer-in-charge. Sub Engineers are posted in various sections under a Sub Divisions and they are assisted by Site Assistant/Time keepers.
